Antique Victorian sterling silver floral repoussé perfume bottle

$280.00

This perfume bottle is a stunning example of Victorian-era repoussé work on silver. The front is completely covered with flowing blossoms whose long petals lap over the edges to the reverse side. With the chain still intact, one can almost imagine how the bottle once hung from a chatelaine and how it fit easily into a gloved woman’s hand. The cap is hinged, and the bottle opening is domed, but unfortunately, due to age and soldering, the cap no longer opens. It is now a wearable piece that would look gorgeous as a pendant or as a charm hung from a handbag.

The perfume bottle is stamped “sterling” on the back and tested. Aside from the cap no longer opening, the perfume bottle is in great antique condition, with some signs of wear and patina appropriate to its age. Please examine all photos and don’t hesitate to ask questions.

Size: Approximately 3.5 inches long from the top of the cap to the bottom (not including chain length).
